We care for your eyes.
Eye Examinations
Our professional optometrists do all they can to make your eye test an enjoyable experience. An eye test at Albany Optometrists takes an average of an hour – this ensures you have time to talk about your specific eye care needs. The entire eye test is conducted by the optometrist – so you can be sure that your eyes will be in safe hands.
Diagnosing Eye Conditions
Eye testing can quickly and simply diagnose common eye conditions such as myopia (short-sightedness) hyperopia (long-sightedness), astigmatism and presbyopia. We can also diagnose eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. Early detection and treatment of these sight-threatening diseases is of the upmost importance. Many general health concerns such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes can also be detected during a thorough eye test.
Advanced Eye Care Technology
We invest in advanced diagnostic technology to provide a thorough assessment of your vision and eye health. Our Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technology provides high-resolution, detailed scans of the structures at the back of the eye, allowing our optometrist to detect, monitor, and manage changes that may affect your long-term eye health.
OCT is a valuable tool for assessing conditions such as glaucoma, macular changes, and other retinal concerns, providing detailed insights beyond what can be seen during a standard eye examination. We also use specialised equipment including visual field testing to assess peripheral vision, corneal topography to map the shape of the cornea, and an auto-refractor to support accurate vision assessments.
Specialised Treatment
In addition to general eye testing our practice also offers Behavioural Optometry assessments and testing for Irlen Syndrome. In conjunction with this we also offer specialised contact lens treatments such as Orthokeratology and treatment for keratoconus.
